Alaska SeaLife Center: Homer Stranding Response

I was a member of the Alaska SeaLife Center's Stranding Program, based out of Homer, AK. During my time volunteering for them I learned many helpful skills, such as responding to live and dead animals, including sea otters and seals, along with taking field measurements and samples, and filling out necessary paperwork.

NOAA's Belugas Count!

I participated in NOAA's annual event, Belugas Count in 2022, where we monitor the endangered Cook Inlet Beluga's for the day to hopefully gain more knowledge about their population status.

Alaska Beluga Monitoring Partnership

I volunteered with AKMP to participate in their beluga monitoring initiative. The belugas are monitored from a specific location for 2 hours at a specific time each day in order to better understand the population, its possible threats, and how it is hopefully recovering.
